1st Grade Student of the Semester!

You can imagine my surprise when Katelyn brought home a note from school stating that she had been chosen as 1st grade student of the semester by her teacher, Mrs. Hamilton. What an honor! When I thanked Mrs. Hamilton, her response to me was, "No thanks necessary! Katelyn earned the recognition by being a great student & a good friend to everyone." Music to a parent's ears, indeed!

On May 9, 2011 we attended Dacono's City Council meeting where Katelyn & a student from each of the other grade levels(K-5) received "Pride of Dacono" awards. Katelyn may attend a small neighborhood school in a tiny little town, but nothing could minimize the pride I felt watching my daughter shake hands with city council members while accepting her award!
