A visit to the Denver Aquarium~

Katelyn's birthday is July 29th and her big sister Shelbey's birthday is July 30th-(yep 1 day apart!!) Because Shelbey and her family live over an hour away in Castlerock, it's harder than you might think to make plans to get together. However, we managed to celebrate the girl's birthdays on August 8th when we met Shelbey & Sean at the Denver Aquarium.

Mike treated us to a delicious meal at Landry's, the Aquarium's restaurant. Not only is the food terrific, but there's floor to ceiling aquariums surrounding the dining area. It was a lot of fun to watch the fish, sharks, and other marine animals while we ate. A scuba diver was also on hand which was a real thrill for the kids!

Katelyn has been to the aquarium a hand-full of times and always enjoys herself. It's similiar to the zoo in that no two visits are exactly the same. However, it doesn't take nearly as long to tour the aquarium. Shelbey & her family decided to get a membership to the aquarium because Sean enjoys going so much. So since they're a family of three & Sean is only 2 yrs.(free admission), they offered the other two family membership cards to Katelyn & I as Katelyn's birthday gift. How cool is that!!

So glad this big guy is extinct-aren't you!!

Katelyn excited to see "Nemo & Dorrie"~

Ahoy Captain Sean~

There are many fun activities for kids at the aquarium & today Katelyn got her face painted!
