A day at the zoo~

After a planned trip to Lifetime's outdoor pool fell through because of unusually cool weather(that's Colorado for ya!), Katelyn & I headed for the Denver Zoo! It's a luxury to have a wonderful zoo within a short driving distance, & a beautiful coolish day to enjoy it!! Actually I love any opportunity to spend quality time with my girl~my most cherished moments.

We were able to take in the Sea Lion show which Katelyn loved~

Her shirt says it all~

What cha ponderin sweetie? Politics, religion, cure for cancer, world peace...

We took in some of the attractions we don't always do like the Forest Aviary~

It was Katelyn's idea to keep a journal of her zoo trip today. She drew pictures of some of the animals and labeled them~

This zoo docent informed us about African elephants & their ivory tusks.

In "Bird World", this crazy bird was flying around and landing on people's shoulders. Narrowly missing me, the bird landed on the shoulders of the guy just behind me. Perhaps it was my girly scream that indicated to the bird that it didn't want to land on me~

At another information station in the zoo, Katelyn was able to use a stick to get "termites" out of their home much like chimpanzees due in the wild. Cool!

We had a wonderful time together & I can't wait for our next opportunity to visit the zoo!
